Please keep these additional facts in mind about dyeing. Lighting will affect the appearance of dyed fabric. Dyed shoes will look different in indoor light as opposed to natural or outdoor light. Different fabrics will also affect the way colors appear, especially so under different lighting conditions. Beige shoes, for example, may appear to have a pinkish hue in outdoor light, while grey or blue tones may appear somewhat purplish. Shoe dye is water soluble. That means that dyed shoes, when exposed to heavy moisture, will bleed or stain. We strongly suggest you do not wear your dyed shoes in the rain. However, if you must, we recommend you use a water repellent spray to, at the very least, minimize bleeding or staining. Again, we at Dyeable Shoes and Handbags strongly advise that you find someone who is a skilled professional in dyeing shoes. It will be necessary to supply him with a swatch of fabric from your dress in order to assure a color match as perfect as possible. |
